CTTSO/TSWG SSE Computer/Web-Based Training
The FIC completed a project for the Combatting Terrorism Technical Support Office (CTTSO), Technical Support Working Group (TSWG) to research, analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate a computer-based training (CBT) course for sensitive site exploitation (SSE). The CBT is a self-paced, asynchronous course designed to support learning and ensure that all students receive the support they need to successfully exploit a site, including using handheld scanners for narcotics and explosives detection.
The CBT SSE training was designed to provide a holistic understanding of SSE at the basic, ideal and tactical levels via virtual reality exercises.
In each level of training, the theoretical content is reinforced with progressively challenging levels of interactive multimedia instruction. The training is delivered using immersive virtual reality scenarios and exercises.
This project was honored in 2014 with a Brandon Hall Silver Excellence in Technology award for Best Advance in Gaming or Simulation Technology.
